A banded gas giant wrapped in a faint, ash-colored ring, easy to miss next to Kestrel III's brighter cousin back home. What matters isn't the planet — it's the derelict Mandate relay array anchored to one of its moons, a jump-calibration station that once helped stabilize transit through Vesper Reach and is now, after centuries of neglect, slowly failing. That failure is the true cause of the Reach's growing unreliability.

Geography & Environment
- A dim, ash-banded gas giant with a faint ring system, far less striking than Kestrel III's
- A handful of small moons; the array is anchored to the largest, a cratered rock locals call the Cairn
- No stable approach without accounting for the array's failing navigation beacons, which throw stray ships' instruments off without warning
Settlements
- None. The array was never meant to be inhabited — only tended, and it hasn't been tended in a very long time
Factions & Notable NPCs
- Mandate Remnant Surveyors — Field Archivist Sela Brint is stationed here investigating the array's decline before it fails completely or draws scavenger attention
- Red Veil Cartel — avoids the array itself but uses the navigational dead zones it creates to slip patrols near The Driftfield
Trade & Economy
- None directly, though the array's instability is indirectly responsible for a great deal of Vesper Reach's smuggling traffic — patrols give the area a wide berth
Points of Interest
- The Vesper Array — a sprawling Mandate-era relay and jump-calibration station built into the Cairn, its outer sections open to vacuum and its core still drawing power from a source nobody has identified
